Good for UK, Abbas confirmed, and so it is, I have three of his preamp units. Potent dynamics, wide soundstage, air and natural rich tone allows magical depth of natural sound LP playback. After 10 years using a Glenn Croft (x3) valve phono stage with off-board dual mono 500kva PSU, I found the Abbas delivers appreciably more, begging the question, how much more could one hear from LPs? I have two units. I will retain one with dual voltage transformer. This second should go to a new home. EF86 input, passive RC RIAA with Siemens PIO capacitors, output with choke-loaded EL84s, Use either EZ80 or EZ81 rectifier (Mullard EZ80 supplied as well as original USSR made valve) Audionote tantalum non magnetic resistors in the EF86 anode and in the correction circuit. Black gate and audio note capacitors. Vintage Siemens MP coupling capacitors. Black gate VK in the cathode. Standard specs: Gain: 42db at 1kHz flatness 0.2dB 47k input load The preamplifier has a very high overload capacity. The RIAA amp is dead quiet using 104dB efficient loudspeakers. The amplifier is listed elsewhere. In the audio world, few people care about this. This way of working takes much more time. It is all more like a building of musical instruments than electronics manufacturing. CROFT Vitale Valve Pre Amp with MM Phono Stage. Very good original condition. Works well and in very good original cosmetic condition, some slight signs of use as to be expected with age but nothing particularly noticeable. Please check out the pictures which show the quality of the casework and the clean presentation inside.There are a few marks on the top of the case where contact from other pieces has caused some paint to lift but these are very minor. Valves have been tested with an Orange valve tester and they all scored a solid 9 which rates as good (on both channels), again see pictures. The 2 x ECC 83 valves are JJ Tesla and the ECC 81 is a Jan Phillips. This is a great example of the late Glen Crofts work and there are lots of reviews online, universally rated very highly.
