Garrard Model 301 Transcription Motor.Used, but well loved and in working order. Part of a larger collection of vintage HiFi gear of my fathers - can ship but given the value would prefer collection (and also so the buyer can be happy with the item).Im happy to answer more questions/provide photos as necessary, as well as discuss other items available. The description from a HiFi retailer (selling this same model, admittedly in better condition with a tone arm, for £32,000!): The Garrard Model 301 Transcription Motor is recognised as supreme in its class.Features that enthusiasts will appreciate are suppression of switch clicks, the heavy turntable platter accurately balanced and very fine degrees of speed control available for all three speeds 33?, 45 and 78 rpm which can all be adjusted by approximately 2½%.Wow and Flutter have been reduced to the minimum being less than 0.2% and less than 0.05% respectively. The unit is equipped for dual voltage ranges of 100 to 130 and 200 to 250 volts, 50 or 60 cycles to the motor pulley.

Genuine original Tube of Garrard Special Grease for the Garrard Model 301 Transcription Motor Record Turntable.It is in the original metal tube and supplied in the original cardboard box.As you can see from the last image it still has the cork seal on the top of the tube. Its possible that some of the grease has been used but very little if any.Dare I say, this item is extremely rare and probably of interest to the owners of the famous 301 Transcription Turntable.

Garrard 301 turntable and SME Plinth. Grease bearing schedule 1 model. Estimated date of production 1956. Was serviced, then stored for a number of years. Item in great condition. A few very light scratches on perspex of SME plinth as would be expected. Deck is immaculate considering age. Comes from HiFi perfectionists home and purchased from new. GARRARD 301 , rare collectors item! I’m selling this turntable on behalf of a friend and have checked it over to see the overall condition. Firstly this is a rare type Garrard 301 and I believe the most rare type , also it’s the lowest numbered cream version I’ve seen or heard of , it is totally original. I have had over twenty Garrard 301 turntables and this is the most quite 301 from initial turning it on and see what it does , even on the 78 speed it is relatively quite. Switching through the speeds is spot on. The spark suppressor doesn’t work which is normal on such a turntable of this age. I am guessing the winning bidder would take this to a qualified Garrard 301 / 401 restorer and have it finished in hammertone grey which I think would be ok as the serial number is before grey hammertone models finished completely. I have not made an effort to clean up this turntable but give potential bidders the knowledge that this is an excellent original non abused turntable that will be part of a wonderful set-up. It’s been checked over , idler mechanism / wheel good. Spindle good , rock solid , quite motor. Collection from Evesham is possible Any questions please ask , thank you! A Garrard Model 301 Transcription Motor turntable, Schedule 1 in the original grey hammered finish. The turntable works but has been stored away for the last 10 years. It is generally in excellent condition, as you can see from the photographs, however there is one small area adjacent to the On/Off switch that shows a mark where the paint has lifted. You can see this in the first photograph. I imagine that it will benefit from a specialist service before giving many years of pleasure to its new owner. It has had one single owner from new, a HiFi enthusiast who never threw anything still working away, but now sadly it is time to dispose of this item. Collection is preferred, but a local delivery could be arranged on request before the auction ends. Please see my other listed item, a SME Series II tonearm.
