Offered for your consideration is a vintage Jamo # 20248 130mm (5 inch) woofer removed from a Jamo Center 200 speaker, manufactured in 1995. This shielded bass/midrange driver was made in Denmark years before Jamo was acquired by Klipsch. It was likely used in some more of Jamo’s period offerings, but the buyer is wholly responsible for accurately verifying any other suitable applications.So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable Jamo woofer should be yours.*Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, several identical Jamo 20248 woofers are available at time of this writing. This Jamo woofer is in clean, excellent overall condition. It has a sturdy poly cone that is flawless and so is the concave voice coil dustcap. Plus, the surround is permanent rubber instead of the fragile foam most makers were still using well into the 1990’s. Also, the black-enameled steel basket is in great shape with no scratches, dings, or oxidation, just a hint of oxidation on the galvanized bell cover. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity with spades that have never been soldered. Overall, this quality Jamo driver is very well preserved. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds perfect with fast, clear mid-frequency coverage and good low end for the platform size. Plus, I tested the DC resistance at 13.1-14.0?, right in line with a nominal 16 ohm driver rating (in the Center 200, two of these woofers are parallel-wired by the crossover for a net 8 ohm load). Lastly, the basket flange measures 5?” diameter, it stands 3” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 3?” adjacent / 5?” on the diagonal apart, c-t-c.So, if your Center 200, or other suitable Jamo speakers, have a damaged or blown 5” mid/bass driver, this is a great find—your speaker will be sounding its best once again in no time! This Jamo tweeter is in clean, very good condition. The soft dome is perfect with no dent or dimples, having been well-protected resting slightly below the faceplate plane. Plus, the plastic faceplate is in nice shape with no chips or cracks, just some faint scuffs. Also, the +/- terminals have never been soldered on the spades and are color-coded for polarity (red spade=positive). Overall, this tweeter is quite well preserved. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds very strong, clear, and detailed with plenty of the beyond-audibility sparkle. Plus, this tweeter is capable of withstanding a continuous 80 watts as crossed-over from the mid/bass woofers in the Center 200. And, I tested its DC resistance at 3.9-4.0?, consistent with a nominal 4 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 4?” diameter, and the mounting holes are spaced 2¾” adjacent / 3?” diagonal apart, c-t-c. This is a nice find if your Center 200 or other suitable Jamo has a blown tweeter and will have your speaker sounding its best again in no time.
