For sale is a pair of Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) 684 speakers that are in excellent working condition. They feature a 1 tweeter and a pair of Kevlar drivers for the mids and bass. They have Flowports both in the front and back, thereby providing a much larger and immersive soundstage than could be expected from these somewhat smaller tower speakers. They also feature 2 pairs of speaker jacks and can be bi-wired, or bi-amped etc via bare wire, spades or banana jack audio connectors. The clear highs, extended bass response and output capacity of this 2½-way floorstander makes it a great choice for hi-fi or home theater in most rooms. The Nautilus tube-loaded, decoupled double dome aluminum tweeter features improved spaciousness and imaging, and generates accurate top-end sounds. Each speaker features a combination of a pair of Kevlar® cones for delivering bass and midrange. The lower cone is dedicated to bass, which relieves the upper bass/ midrange unit of the duty to handle heavy bass and leads to clearer, crisper midrange than you might find typically in smaller speakers. The improvements back then to the drive units in the B&W 600 Series made it possible to introduce a minimalist crossover to this range. The use of components that are fewer in number but higher in quality - hand-picked in exhaustive listening tests - improved the sonics significantly.
