When you listen to the AV5105, you cant avoid the unmistakable sound of LINN through it. It sits on a slightly larger footprint than its LK series at about 16 square but it has a slightly more refined sound than the LK series. With 100W on tap at 8 ohms and 200W at 4 ohms, the AV5105 does have a decent amount of juice to drive most speakers except the really current hungry ones. Paired with the Spendor SP100, they formed a smooth, warm sounding partnership that is hard not to like. Speaker out only takes BFA banana plugs so do take note of that. The AV5105 is an eight channel amp, four channels on each side which you could either fully utilized with their AV range of speakers or drive to pairs of front speakers. Full flexibility of your choosing. Switch on the back allows you to switch between 115V or 230V so it can be used anywhere in the World. The amp is designed to be left on and turns on when when it sense an incoming signal. When no incoming signal is detected after a few minutes, it turns off on its own. Cosmetically, the unit looks fair. Some scuff marks/scratches and dents here and there but nothing major. We dont have the original box but can securely pack it for safe shipping. Linn Av 5105 Stereo Power Amplifier 400watt Vgc. One of linns best ever amps, the sound quality is amazing with plenty of power in reserve.I’ve got two of these amps but as we’ve recently downsized I don’t have a cinema room anymore which is what this amp was used for. So I’m keeping one for myself and selling this one. Overall vgc everything works fine, clean face and sides and the usual small scratches on the top.missing 3 of the screw on nuts on the speaker terminals but you won’t need them unless your running more than 6 pairs of speakers, but they are really easy to buy if required.

All the technical info is in the pictures. In all the years I have used this it has never given me a single problem. I have always used this in 2 channel stereo mode. these had a recall and they had to replace the capacitors, the capacitors were greatly upgraded at that time. You will need some Linn low mass speaker wire connectors, I will include them when I ship. also included is a printed owners manual. It does not come with a power cord. If I can find the original I will send it but I recommend a high quality aftermarket power cord. In typically Linn fashion this amp is as rugged as they come. The amp I had before this was a PS audio, I accidentally touched the leads together and It fried 3 of my woofers and the amp as well. This amp however has all sorts of protection if you do anything like touch the leads together all it will do is shut down for a few seconds. What does it sound like? rather than listen to me go to audiogon.com and read the reviews. Stereophile gave this an A rating and it is recommended. Or you could just google it and find the reviews are very good. The speakers I have been using with this are 4 Ohms 95 DB. My related equipment is a Project Carbon Evo turntable with every upgrade imaginable, a luminous audio Preamp, a Geshelli J2 Dac my transport is an Audiolab 600CDT and my tuner is a Fanfare FT1A. So this is not the most expensive equipment but honestly this amp is so good and youre gonna have to spend a lot of money to get better, which is what I just did and Is why I am selling this.
