The remote is milled from aluminum and weighs a couple pounds by itself. The preamplifier chassis comprises four nuvistor triodes, and the amplifier is dual-mono solid-state outputting 330 watts into 8 ohms.This is the best of both worlds -- the richness of a tube input stage coupled with the power and detail of solid-state amplification.There are five inputs -- four RCA pairs and one XLR pair, as well as a switch which places the unit in home theater mode, bypassing the volume control. Each channel has two pairs of binding posts for bi-amping.Cosmetically, there is a minimal spot of discoloration on the faceplate -- maybe a couple millimeters in size.
