Extremely rare vintage retro yellow cased Panasonic radio cassette player, in excellent condition. Has been in a display unit for the last fifteen years! Era 1980s. Everything works well. The radio tuner moves the dial and plays the desired station. All the push down buttons on the cassette player work, however the actual sound is muffled. Probably needs a service and a proper head clean. You wont find another one like this for sale on ebay or on the whole of the internet. The whole casing even the back, is in a very rare retro yellow colour and is in exceptional condition. Comes with its original instructions manuel. Radio cassette player has been tested and works. The only issue is with the volume control. The volume control has to be wiggled around a couple times or just tapped to make the sound come out of both ears of the headphones. I think the volume control is dirty inside and would have to come apart and be sprayed with contact cleaner to clean it or maybe over time just the use of it would help clear it up but it does work fine all you have to do is tap the volume control and it seems to straighten out and sounds fine. It features an analog AM/FM radio and includes a nice vintage set of Panasonic lightweight headphones with good pads. Cosmetically nice with some visible rubs on the clear portion of the front cover, and light wear elsewhere. The rubs may come off with a rubbing compound, but I’ll leave that to the buyer. Cassette deck has been tested - it plays well, and it sounds good, but if you are going to make this a daily user you will want to install a new drive belt. Radio works well, too! Playback head, capstan and pinch roller have all been cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Headphones are in decent shape and sound pretty good.
