This receiver is ridiculously powerful, with many inputs and outputs for both audio and video, as well as Dolby Pro-Logic Surround. Google the model number for a wealth of information, but basically this was the flagship model near the end of Pioneers second heyday of stereo system greatness. The original remote control and owners manual are included. This unit was gently used, and kept in a dust proof cabinet most of its life. All buttons function as they should, as do all aspects of the display. Sounds great. Ive had several similar high end Pioneer receivers over the years. This one presents quite well, with only a few small cosmetic imperfections. Overall, this is a very nice example. At the time of this listing, I have a compatible Pioneer Multi Room Remote System listed in a separate auction, new in the boxes. If youre trying to build a high-end vintage Pioneer component system, thats definitely worth looking at also. The receiver has a low 60hz hum. I suspect one or more of the filter caps needs to be replaced. But that is just my guess. No other issues I am aware of but I I primarily just use the FM, CD and phono input functionality. I checked some of the other inputs and no issues. For the other inputs, the front panel changes but I didn’t check every input. I don’t use it for video. If that is important, I will try and find a TV that has the S video or RCA inputs.NOTE: It does not have HDMI connections. Like with the receiver, I didn’t use all functions on the Remote… I’ve never programmed it. I can say all the “basic” functions work. I also have another remote that can be used for parts I will throw in. Auction includes, operating manual, and two remotes (one works and is paired with the receiver). Vintage Pioneer VSX-D901S AV Receiver Dolby Surround Pro Logic Works Great. I’m the original opener. My mother bought this over 30 years ago at one of those cool entertainment stores in the mall. These type of stores don’t exist anymore but were cool for their time. She bought everything too if the line, which is the case for this system. Very expensive, even not adjusting for inflation. Audiophile Dream. This system is better quality than most of the stuff made today. We connected a pioneer laser disc player to this (laser disc player may still be available in my store so check it out). Also connected a tape deck and vcr to this system. Check out the pictures to see all the cool functions, inputs and buttons. Other than a few scuffs it seems to be in great condition. Missing remote control.
