Rega Planar 78 Original Glass Platter Version Pristine. I have owned this from new, having bought it at The Sound Gallery in early 1989, and have literally used it once or twice. It has been carefully stored in its original box in a dry room (not the loft!) It includes every single item that was originally in the box, all pristine. My other turntable (not for sale!) is a full fat lp12 so I know how to look after such gear. It comes with a RB250 arm and Goldring 850 78 cartridge; the arm is pristine, free, no play. The cartridge/stylus has had no wear but of course, after this time, it would be wise to check how it (the cartridge) plays. I’d also say that the turntable fundamentally runs fine, but the belt is a bit tired from age, especially as the one silly thing I did was leave it on its pulley. From memory I was very pleasantly surprised to find that 78s can have a richer, more bassy sound than I expected. Rega’s manufacturing precision tbh puts Linn in the shade, and this item is no exception. This is a delicate item; I will post if necessary, but of course collection would be ideal. So the postage you see is just a starter - we can discuss and I ALWAYS refund any postage not paid by me. As a point of integrity I never make money out of postage. If you collect, there are a kallax - box - worth of 78s, roughly 30-40, which you can have for free. Many are eminently playable as my Dad cared for them nicely.
