For sale is a Garrard 401 turntable, this is the flush strobe version, the tonearm is an Ortofon SMG-212, both 401 and tonearm are in very good working order, the spindle bearing has been cleaned and lubricated, the motor runs smoothly and quietly, the cartridge mounted is a Stanton 680 EL. The platter will be removed and the transit bolts will be tightened for shipping.

Cosmetically it’s a very nice example, there was a piece of metal attached, i think it was part of an auto lift mech, there are a couple of light scratches on the arm tube where this was installed (see pics) Cabling is bare wire, for internal connection to turntables. Please note: headhshell will need cartidge wires (if i find some i will include. All buzzed out on the meter and good.Bearings are nice and smooth. Complete with box (no inner poly) template, cable (would probaly not use this…) and mounting screws. ORTOFON SMG 212 Vintage Tonearm. Made in Denmark I have recent removed this Tonearm only as it’s a touch too short for my plinth and has been swapped for a longer arm. Has been used with low compliance Denon DL103, it’s in good condition, the end plastic cap has a crack in it, does not affect performance, arrived to me this way. A quick glue would fix it. I have removed the terminal block and old RCA’s from it. Look like it’s been kept in a box for many years. Included is a VTA adjustment kit. For sale is a Garrard 301 grease bearing turntable with Ortofon SMG 212 tonearm, this is the sought-after rimless version, the motor has been serviced by Mr. James Campbell, the bearing was cleaned and fed with fresh Garrard grease, the mounted Stanton 500 cartridge sounds fine.
