Beschreibung
Systemdek IIX 900 turntable freshly restored with Rega/Moth tonearm, New Old Stock Audio Technica AT120 mm cartridge - lovely condition Another extremely good example of this underrated turntable from the 80’s Scottish Triangle of excellence. In it’s day this very competent turntable was talked about in the same breath as the Linn LP12 and, who knows, if the owners had been as large as life and as visible as Linn’s Ivor Tiefenbrun, they may have enjoyed the commercial success this deck deserves. This one comprises : The usual black ash wood finish which is virtually unmarked. Superb Moth Branded Rega Arm New Old Stock Audio Technica AT120 cartridge Strong original Motor New Belt & oil Finely Tuned Suspension and set up Good Lid - relatively scratch free but a little cloudy (which is common) one minor crack near hinge. I have fully stripped, cleaned and rebuilt this deck to a high quality finish and it has been set up and tuned to be just right. I have had the turntable on extensive test on my reference system and it performs perfectly and sounds divine. Even with the relatively modest cartridge fitted, it creates a convincing soundstage with accurate mid and high frequencies - and actually suppressed the bright tendencies of this cartridge to produce a very accurate and neutral sound. Low frequencies are very accurate but not massively extended - partly down to the limitations of vinyl - but a higher spec cartridge will undoubtedly bring the bass further forward. I can fit a different cartridge on request - please contact me for details. GETTING YOUR TURNTABLE I cannot stress enough the benefits of collecting your turntable in person, if at all possible. If you collect in person, you can see it, ‘have a listen’ and everything will be set up and ‘ready to go’ - indeed, with just a few basic deconstructs to enable you to get it home safely, you’ll be in business when you get home inside 2 minutes. I make no apologies for choosing to not to ‘post’ turntables. They regularly get damaged to some degree with standard couriers and it isn’t always easy for me to resolve issues at a distance. If you’re spending this amount on a precision instrument you should be prepared to either pick it up - or to have it safely delivered to you. If you are within a reasonable distance, I might even be prepared to deliver and install the turntable for an agreed charge. If you’re outside of that range, ask and I could possibly meet you ‘halfway’ (or partway!) - again for an agreed charge. As a last resort, if distance / lack of transport puts collection completely out of the question, I do have a couple of contacts for ‘specialist’ couriers, who will for a price, collect the deck from me and deliver it straight to you - they are a bit more expensive than a normal parcel service obviously, but I have used them successfully in the past to the complete satisfaction of all involved. I can provide details upon request. AND FINALLY… I also buy Turntables, so, if you have a Systemdek, Linn Sondek LP12, Axis or Basik you’re considering selling, message me - I’ll offer you a fair price based upon its specification and condition. Similarly, I buy parts, so if you’ve got a cupboard full of upgraded parts - give me a call.
