Tonearm - badged as Mission, but made by Jelco (SA-250ST) Jelco made tonearms that were branded for other makers/brands and fitted to many different decks, i.e. Linn Majik - made in Japan. Static balance straight tonearm. In working condition when removed from deck. The tonearm will fit many decks, i.e. Thorens, Linn Sondek, Ariston, Rega and many others. In super condition, with just 2 marks where cartridge was fitted to the arm end. No cartridge. Original Jelco Litz cartridge wires attached. Comes with original phono leads. THORENS TD160 (1976)If you are looking for a well built, reliable, beautiful looking & great sounding vintage deck....then this is for you....DescriptionThe TD160 is very well designed and famed for its outstanding reliability. A classic turntable that is often listed in the top 10 essential turntables of all time. It was built to last using high quality components. High-performance belt-driven turntable which employs; Anti-skating force control, Audiophile Tonearm. Cueing device, Detachable dust cover, Solid Oak cabinet, Isolator feet & Suspended chassis.Refurbishments & Upgrades:All internal & external working parts have been properly cleaned, serviced, polished, oiled & greased where appropriate - all are in perfect working condition. The underside of the chassis has been properly isolated using high quality dampening material (see pics). This removes unwanted vibrations and improves the sound presentation. The old & rather flimsy plinth has been replaced with a brand new solid English Oak custom built plinth. It looks stunning & adds much needed mass & support to the deck. Includes bespoke alloy name badge sourced form the U.S. The Heavy duty base board has holes precisely positioned to allow access to the springs without having to remove the board. An excellent feature & perfect for tweaking the suspension. The base board is fitted with four Spectra Dynamics Focal Pod isolation feet. Audiophile quality & made from solid Sorbothane. Cleaned & oiled the platter bearing & spindle using Van Den Hul turntable oil, runs smoothly.Polished the heavy platter edge to a beautiful shine.Comes fitted with a custom solid Aluminium armboard (Linn geometry)). Fitted to this is a fully functional Jelco ST-250 tonearm. A superb example of this classic tonearm & comes complete with tonearm cable fitted. (see pics). The tonearm is fitted with an audiophile quality Ortofon 2M Red cartridge with new stylus, widely regarded as a fine sounding MM cartridge & an excellent match with this tonearm/deck. Set up correctly using Baerwald geometry. Brand new replacement dust cover, It is perfectly clean, clear & scratch free. Fitted a brand new top quality one piece continuous belt (best belt on the market).Original Thorens mat + Cork & Rubber mat + Pure Leather Audiophile quality mat.Being a manual deck its very simple to operate. Fully set up and calibrated prior to listing and passing the Bounce Test with flying colours at an impressive 12-14 seconds!
