In den 80er Jahren traf sich die junge Generation auf Plätzen und in Parks und diverse Getto Blaster, Boomboxen oder Kassettenrecorder gehörten einfach dazu wie die neonfarbenen Ohrringe oder das bauchfreie Netz-Shirt um cool zu sein. So baute um 1991 die Innovationsschmiede Toshiba den vorliegenden RT-8023. Vom Design her unleugbar ein typisches Kind der ausgehenden 80er und beginnenden 90er Jahre hatte es einen guten Klang, kam bei Bedarf ohne Strom aus und konnte eine beachtliche Frequenzbreite empfangen. Das RT-8023 bot eine solide technische Ausstattung und positionierte sich als Modell der Mittelklasse. Das vorliegende Radio war augenscheinlich längere Zeit in Gebrauch und hat entsprechend Gebrauchsspuren (nach über 30 Jahren üblich Kratzer am Gehäuse sowie Verschmutzungen an schwer erreichbaren Stellen). Der Radioempfang funktionierte im UKW-Bereich gut und das Kassettenlaufwerk arbeitet auch immer noch zufriedenstellend, nach der Zeit fast überraschend. Vintage 1984 (ish) Retro Toshiba RT-90S Radio Cassette Player Boombox in good working order. This machine has been well looked after but needed a new drive belt and a good clean inside and out. This completed it now looks and sounds very good. I have made a video clip of it playing that I can send on WhatsApp if requested.
