Manufactured by Sparks-Withington Company Jackson, Michigan. Ebony wood with chrome stripes. I purchased the radio as it sits now. The case is in good condition, there are no issues. It turns on, the light works but the speaker is static. I havent had it looked at, Im not sure of what the issue is. It displays beautifully as-is and can be restored. hello and welcome to my auction,you are bidding on a vintage walter instrument ltd type 404 reel to reel tape recorder,bought this tape recorder second hand donkeys years ago when going through a faze of collecting old vintage electrical stuff,the tape recorder will have to be sold as seen,as not tested,and under not working properly,for spares/repairs,the wood casing/deck/metal work have the usual bits of wearing/marking/damage around them,there seems to be some thing rattling around inside,I had to change the plug,as it had a old brown round three pin bakelite plug on it,I plugged the reel to reel in,the light came on,the forward/reverse/play/record switch seem to work as i put a couple of tape spools on it,they started turning but no sound came out the recorder,the tapes might not have any thing on them,the reel to reel also comes with a heavy metal gold coloured microphone,in the right hands could be made to be a good working tape recorder,or just use it for spares,also comes with some spare spools,couple are broken,I wouldnt be able to post this sorry as way to heavy,it will have to be collection only, thank you for looking and happy bidding
