Early Silver Frame Western Electric 755A 8 Speaker. Measures 8 3/8 x 3 1/8. Net Weight 5.0 lbs/2.27kg. There is a tear in the cone. Please see pictures above. There are no rubs and this speaker is tested and works great. DCR reads 3.0 Ohms. The metal frame has been repainted many years ago. You can still see the golden WE faintly in the frame. Definitely an early Silver speaker frame as evidenced by the paint being rubbed off at some areas of the frame. You can see it is SILVER paint underneath. Few optical flaws, e.g. tears in the cone (but professionally fixed by very WE experts >20 yrs when speaker was purchased; since then in my collection). 755A since last year loaded in cabinet designed by Dr. Bae, Silbatone. Best cabinet I have ever tried with the 755A, superior sound unchallenged by any other cabinet design and design, contemporary or vintage (incl. WEs own cabs). Auction is EXCLUDING this pair of cabinets! Again, this single 755A speaker is offered WITHOUT the cabinets shown in pictures. If buyer wants the cabinets we have do a separate business. For sale is a pair of Sony 8” full range drivers. I don’t know the extract model but they are the same as the Lafayette SK-98. I have had these for a long time and enjoyed them in A DIY cabinet built to their specifications, They sound Amazing and extremely close to the 755a! Well I no longer have room for these so it’s time someone else uses them. Overall they are in great condition with No rips and No VC rub. However the inner cones have aged differently and their colors don’t match. The speakers will be properly packaged to insure safe transport.
