Refurbished! Acoustic Research AR XA Turntable W/Upgraded Tonearm & Hurst Motor! This turntable has been fully cleaned and tested! Works beautifully! New belt, tonearm, needle and Hurst motor have been added! Plinth bearing and shaft have been oiled! Speeds have been checked and are accurate! Dust cover has a crack in the back. Wooden plinth has some damage on the front left (as pictured) dust cover doesn’t fit well with the new tonearm in place. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

This auction is for a Vintage, used, Acoustic Research AR XA Turntable Vinyl Record Player. This turntable powers on and the metal piece spins that the belt connects to, but the belt appears to be quite worn and loose causing it to not have enough power to spin the large upper platter. The felt pads on top are also completely worn and are quite sticky from someone probably trying to remove the old ones for replacement. Overall it’s in great condition and has been well taken care of over the years. The dust cover has no cracks or damage. The tonearm is there and appears to be complete and I their is no physical damage to any part of the unit. I have not comprehensively tested the entire machine (mostly due to the fact my turntable knowledge is very limited and I’m really not sure how everything works). It’s possible it may need additional restoration beyond the pads and the belt I’m not sure. It’s a bit of a project, but nothing major and it appears to have all required parts here and is complete. I have some other vintage (Sony) stereo equipment listed. Used Acoustic Research AR/XA Motor Pulley for Early XA models that use the 2 Motors. Excellent Pre-owned Condition! I came across 2 of these pulleys amongst my miscellaneous turntable parts. I know they are for an AR/XA but are smaller than the 'normal' pulley of the single motor design. I am almost positive that this pulley is the drive pulley on the 2 motor design as it has 2 spots of the belts to run for changing between 33 and 45 rpm. The pulley has 2 drive sections for the belt to run on like the normal pulley, but again the diameter is smaller. The widest part of the pulley measures about 23-24mm. I have 2 of these for sale. AR turntable offered for parts or repair. Both motors function, but the tonearm isn’t moving freely and I imagine the bearing is shot. What you see pictured is what you’ll receive.

Vintage Acoustic Research XA Turntable, working perfectly. Nice unrestored XA turntable. Unit has a new belt and two new AR badges but is otherwise untouched except for oiling the spindle and tonearm wells along with the motor. Runs very quietly and holds speeds great on both 33 and 45. As with most XAs, the unit benefits from a small push to get platter spinning. The cartridge (Shure M91ED) is in excellent condition and sounds amazing. The dustcover is in wonderful condition except for one small chip (see photos). It does not have any other cracks and will not spread. This particular XA does have the veneer plinth and not the full walnut and does have some small areas where the veneer is starting to peel- mostly at the base of the unit. The top plate is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings. It includes the original paperwork for installation and start up. Wonderful unit for someone who has been looking for a clean unrestored XA. I have sold lots of these same units and have a great track record with shipping. I take great care to pack everything to ensure it arrives safely to you and provide unpacking and set up instructions as well.

Hi, Up for sale is an AR TURNTABLE MODEL XA, the turntable missing head shell and the weight, the on off switch is broken but as you can see from the video i moved it back and forth and it went on but it needs to be replaced, it is slid switch so simple to fix, the armrest also missing, the original AR Tag is there that is missing from most of them. EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE CASE HAS SOME LIGHT SURFACE MARKS BUT NOTHING MAJOR. THE DUST COVER IS SCRATCHED UP UP AND HAS SOME YELLOWING. THE TURNTABLE WORKS. NO CARTRIDGE TO TEST IT FURTHER. COMES WITH EVERYTHING SHOWN.

This is the original headshell taken from an Acoustic Research XA Turntable. The plastic steps locking the collar socket are stripped down so it is not working and you will need to repair the plastic steps before it can be locked into the collar socket again. All the wires and connections are checked based on a continuity test using a multimeter, and they are working fine. There are three cracks on one of the screw holes. You will need to repair that as well so a cartridge can be properly mounted onto it. Other than these issues, the headshell is in overall good condition. The headshell can be used in Acoustic Research XB turntable as well. The headshell is being SOLD AS IS for REPAIR/PARTS, NO RETURN. It will be packed well to ensure safe arrival to destination. For sale is an Acoustic Research AR XA turntable that is untested and is being sold for parts or restoration. Cosmetically you can see this unit has wear and needs some love but is a potential candidate for restoration. When I power it on I manually turned the motor to get it to get going, it does not have a belt, headshell or bottom cover. The lever that raises the tone arm does work. Please see pics.
