Adcom GFA-555 MKII w/ Original Manual. This amplifier is in excellent pre-owned condition. While not worth mentioning, it does have a single 1-2mm mark that doesnt look like a scratch on its top. It performs flawlessly and operates as it should. It has never been modified. This is an excellent example of this renowned amplifier. General Specifications:The amplifier is a stereo amplifier with a power output of 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It can also be bridged to mono mode, providing a power output of 600 watts into 8 ohms. The frequency response of the amplifier is typically 20 Hz to 20 kHz (+0, -0.25 dB) at 1 watt into 8 ohms. The THD of the amplifier is less than 0.03% at rated power into 8 ohms from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The SNR of the amplifier is typically greater than 120 dB below rated output, A-weighted. Adcom GFA-555 II Stereo Amplifier for parts or repair. This amp has been in dry Colorado storage for about 10 years. Before that it lived an easy life in my upstairs living room. I started using it again very recently. I had to adjust the balance a bit to the right to get both speakers to play at the same volume. I thought that perhaps the signal capacitors were shot. I replaced them with the exact value Mundorf film capacitors. I always thought the Adcom amp sounded great…I was surprised just how much better it now sounded. The bios was set perfectly but the balance was still off. After a couple of days listening the right channel started distorting and blew a fuse. The signal board failed. See pictures. A new board and components to repair the amp are available from various sources. I feel that this repair is over my head. Maybe someone will take on this amp.
