This is truly a vintage piece of equipment by AKAI. The GX series decks are known for their Ferrite and Crystal heads, which translates into the longest lasting heads on the market. It’s unique feature of being able to monitor the signal and adjust the sound to your liking is priceless. Although it’s considered a consumer product, AKAI has been a major player in the commercial audio industry for years. This unit was used possibly five or six times and then the development of compact discs hit the market and this cassette deck became obsolete. It is virtually brand new. There is not even a scratch on the unit from what I can tell. If you’re looking for a quality piece of equipment with these features, grab it because I’m sure there are not many in this condition available these days .

AKAI GX-635D - High-End Tonbandmaschine, neuer Service & voll funktionstüchtig Schöner Zustand mit leichten Gebrauchsspuren und voll funktionstüchtig Mit neuem Service vom R/F - Techniker durchgeführt. Neben den üblichen Wartungsarbeiten hat der Techniker auch einen Relais-Ersatz für den Schiebeschalter eingebaut. Der Schiebeschalter wird bei fast allen GX-635D zum Problem und zur Ursache für viele Störungen im Gerät. Reparaturversuche daran gelingen manchmal kurzfristig, aber nach einiger Zeit kommen die Probleme damit wieder. Die Fa. Bosch-Trading hat dafür eine geniale Lösung in Form des Relais-Ersatzes geschaffen (hier bei ebay erhältlich) und diesen Austausch kann ich jedem Besitzer der GX-635 sehr empfehlen. Seit ich meine Maschinen damit umrüsten ließ, gab es keinerlei Probleme/ Kanalausfälle mehr bei Aufnahme und Wiedergabe und das Gerät ist voll funktionstüchtig. Wegen Hobbyaufgabe und aus Platzgründen trenne ich mich von meinem langjährigen Weggefährten, meinem Kassettendeck Akai GX-R 88, das ich mir nach meinem Ferienjob im September 1985 für sage und schreibe 1400,00 DM bei Radio Busch in Ansbach gekauft habe. Ich hoffe, dass ein passionierter Hifi-Sammler daran seine Freude hat, zumal das Gerät in sehr gutem Zustand für sein Alter und absolut funktionstüchtig ist. Das gute Stück stand die letzten Jahre in meinem Hifi-Rack und war nicht mehr im Dienst,ich habe es am 15.12.23 nochmals auf Herz und Nieren getestet und alles funktioniert weiterhin einwandfrei. Im Jahr 2010 wurde das Deck von einem Hifi-Profi, der sein Handwerk versteht, generalüberholt und gereinigt, alle Riemen, das Idlergummi sowie die Andruckrollen wurden ausgetauscht, Aufnahme-Wiedergabe sowie die Geschwindigkeit sind mit Abgleichtapes neu eingestellt worden. Noch ein Hinweis zu den Fotos: Hier spiegelt sich teilweise der Teppich, das ist mir erst im Nachgang aufgefallen - sowohl die Kassettenklappe als auch das Display sind kratzerfrei. Listing is for qty(1) AKAI GX-F71 indication board Board removed from AKAI GX-F71 cassette deck that powered on but would intermittently produce sound. During check out of the unit I found no discrepancy of LCD screen or buttons. Drive buttons worked. Meter indicated sound. Lights worked on buttons. Buttons correctly commanded cassette drive. I am sure I have missed some ops check of a feature so the unit is being Sold AS-IS for PARTS OR REPAIR.
