Ampex CVR 35 DVCam portable video recorder/player and case plus one blank tape.6 months ago I used this to transfer some archive to DVD and it all worked fine.The machine is in very good clean condition , the ballistic nylon of the case is too but the ( previously clear) vinyl patches have gone milky and brittle and basically failed.I have tested it for this auction and cant say that it is now working fully so am offering it for spares .This is what I have found, using a 12Volt external supply:It loads and ejects a tape, plays it and spools forwards and backwards. As I now only have a blank tape for testing I cant see any video and audio replayingWhen I try to record the only baseband video source that I have is a DV camera, via a D to A convertor or analogue phono cable. In both cases it stays in record pause until video is supplied and it then it flashes the record pause LED and stops and starts the tape moving between flashes.So, there is a chance that it both records and replays with a proper video source but I can offer no guarantees, hence the start price. If you can tell what is going on from my description you might get a real bargain!

Here for sale I have this original Ampex CVR-70 Betacam SP Beta Video Cassette Recorder Operation manual. Catalog No. 1520506-01, Issued June 1988. It is three ring binder punched on one side, and staple bound in the upper left corner. (note to myself: inventory # A1001) This came from the estate of someone that smoked cigarettes so the pages have yellowed from nicotine and they smell like old cigarette smoke.
