Ariston Audio RD11s Turntable with Linn Basik Tonearm.Vintage 1981 Scottish-made turntable offered by original owner. Predecessor to famous Linn Sondek LP12.

LP12 Period Ariston Audio RD11 record deck with Rega RB250 arm. This is one of the earlier LP12 type Ariston RD11 turntables. I believe it is early 70s before the design changes were made. It has the original machined inner plater bearing, pre ball bearing. It has a Rega RB250 fitted with VTA adjuster ( Not pictured but supplied) as Rega arms require this when fitted to LP12s. It has an acrylic arm board which tightens up the sound. The top plate looks to have drilled for a Linn sub chassis at some point (see pics) but this doesn’t affect the sound. I have included a 45 adjuster (I can’t get it to fit, maybe someone can work it out by changing the 33 rpm rotor around). You can fit a Hercules to these turntables as a direct upgrade if you desire! It spins as nicely at 33 as my LP12 and runs smooth. I’ve disengaged the belt feed as I find it rubs sometimes but can re-engage it if needed. It’s a great deck that is a piece of history in its own right and a great launching pad for the endless upgrade world of the LP12. International postage available.

Ariston Audio RD11s transcription record deck / SME 3009 arm / A&R Cambridge cartridge. I bought this unit in 1974 as I couldnt afford a Linn Sondeck, which turns out to have been made in the same factory and is virtually identical! I do not currently have a phono compatible pre-amp to check output - but it worked perfectly before I put it into careful storage. The unit comes with original manufacturers booklet and SME booklet which the purchaser may need to re-set up the arm and cartridge. I hope the photos show the condition of the unit which overall I would describe as good. It comes with an anti-rumble rubber turntable mat and good quality phono plugs/earth lead. I noticed preparing the deck for sale that a machine screw on one of the hinges is missing.
