The Audio Alchemy Digital Decoding Engine v1.0 DAC might just be right for some looking to improve an inexpensive CD player (or DVD player) with improved detail and transparency. Front panel: Three LEDs show analog, digital and power and switches for digital coaxial or TOSlink optical inputs as well as an absolute polarity (0 / 180 degrees) switch. Rear panel: DC input from the supplied power supply, coaxial digital input, TOSlink optical input, I2S bus and an on/off switch for I2S port, coaxial digital output and the left and right phono outputs. Compact size 226mm Wide x 45mm High x 135mm Deep (DAC) plus an external power supply (51 mm x 63.5 mm x 38 mm). Colour is black, case and fascia is metal construction.
