Firstly, this is a tangential record player, this means that the stylus moves across the record deck at a 90 degree angle to the record across the whole record. this reduces weight on the record by the stylus as it sits perfectly in groove at all times. In addition, there is a black round weight sensor in the centre of the deck, this records the weight of the record being played and sets up the record player with the correct speed (LP or Single) and sets the record player start position so that the stylus starts in exactly the correct position. There are control buttons on the record deck for moving the stylus to intended tracks on the album. These controls raise and lower the stylus in the selected position and there is also a play command button, The stylus is also moved to the requested start position on the record and can be lowered into the position required.
