This was Well Tempered Labs top of the line turntable when it first came out. Since then, their product line has grown from three to twelve products currently. Which speaks volume on the success of their designs and products. The most interesting feature on this turntable, in our opinion, is their filament suspended tonearm that is viscous damped. It is such a delicate simple design that it stands out from the competition. You could immediately tell its lightweight design tonearm will not intrude in the signal transfer from the cartridge, through the wires inside and to the RCA jacks on the back. It is currently fitted with a Benz Ruby 3 MC cartridge which in itself retails for $3,000. No exact number on the cartridge hours but it works fine. But like all used cartridges, just have a new one handy in case you need to swap it out. The current pairing is deliciously rich and warm sounding. They really bring out the best in vinyl with an organic analog sound. Base plinth is a lot heavier than the Classic we also have for sale in another listing. So the platter is spinning on a much heavier and sturdier base which gives it a steadier turning spin. We dont have the original packaging and due to its open access of the silicone fluid, local pickup preferred. If shipping is required, silicone fluid will be drained into a container. About This Cartridge I purchased this awesome cartridge 20 or so years ago and have never used it. It is a sealed in-the-box Benz Micro Switzerland Lukaschek HiFi Electronic Model Ruby - 3S cartridge that I purchased thinking I was going to get a second turntable . . . which never happened. This is a top cartridge; it was $3600 (before tax) new back then from my local audio shop that sourced it through the also local outstanding store Musical Surroundings. The Serial Number is #34151.
