Brenell Mk5 S3 Vintage Reel to Reel Tape Recorder. In good condition. Powers up. Transport operates. Mic input passes audio. Don’t have the ability to test the record function. I bought it from an old chap who was an audio enthusiast, who said it worked, for what that’s worth! Comes with Bulgin power cable to plug in.

This is a vintage reel to reel tape recorder. My parents had it for as long as I can remember so it is probably from the late 1950sI have powered it up and it all seems to work. However one of the drive belts is broken, see picture. Even so I did manage to pull a tape through and I got some speech out of the speaker so Im sure with a new belt it will be fine. As you can see from the pictures the control buttons have some fatigue cracks but they are not falling off!It comes with all its original accessories and instruction manual.

Some browning and tears to wiring diagram and loose page. Th rest of the pamphlets (all pretty thin) have horizontal creasing where they have been folded in half. One duplication except background colour is different.

Brenell Mark 5 Reel to Reel Here we have a nice condition Brenell reel to reel tape recorder. I believe from looking online that it is a Mark 5 probably series 1? But I am not 100% sure on that. What you see is what you get it looks to be in good condition but I dont have any tapes to test it so I have listed it as spares or repairs. This used to belong to a friend of mine who was really into audio and in fact worked repairing audio equipment locally. When he passed away he left all his audio equipment to me and this was in his workshop. It wasnt really burried it was on a shelf with only papers on top of it. It has had the back hinges removed so he could take the top off it without moving it off the shelf. This might imply it works fine but I couldnt say as I honestly never saw him use it every time I visited it was CD or records he had on in the workshop. He always looked after his stuff very well and some things we pulled out from behind units in the workshop still work fine. But like I say I cant test it so I am listing it as spares. I dont really know much about this unit or its specification but I am sure if you are reading this you know more than me. Condition is good over all for the age the inside looks beautiful in its design.As I say the back hinges have been removed and I dont have them so take that into account please. The lid still stays on fine with the clips on but its not 100% secure is all, it clearly made it so he didnt need to move it if he wanted the top off it. Any questions just ask. What you see is what you get just the recorder in its case. no tapes or manual etc (it is online I think) It is collection only as its pretty heavy and large and I am certain any courier would break it. If you live close or it might be easy to get to you please ask as I dont mind travelling a little if I can get there on train with it. But please ask first before bidding! Please have a look at my other auctions as I have other audio equipment for sale. Relisted due to winner being outside of the UK so couldnt collect and none payment.
