This Canadian speaker brand is considered by many audiophiles as one of the most underrated speaker manufacturer in the Eighties and Nineties. They have made some really spectacular speakers ranging from bookshelves to floorstanders like the Studio Pro you see here which was their most lavish model. Each speaker is a 4 driver, 3-way design with one 1 dome tweeter, one 8 mid-range and two 8.5 woofers. The integration of frequency across all four drivers are seamless and cohesive which showcased the well designed crossover inside. Frequency range is 35 Hz to 20 kHz with a nominal impedance of 8 ohm and a sensitivity of 90db. They are very easy to drive with a minimum power of 25W to get them to sing. They will take on a 200W amp with glee so power them away! Speakers are well made with each speaker weighing 85 lbs and measure 11 wide, 15 deep and 41 tall. They work best in a medium to large size room where they can project with large soundstage with impressive depth and imaging. Bass was punchy and fast with the mids and highs detailed and transparent. For under $900 now, which is what you would typically pay for a pair of monitor speakers with stands or a lower level mid-range floorstanders, the Camber Studio Pro is worthy alternative to these other options. Cosmetically, the speakers will need some TLC to enhance its appearance. They are after all a thirty plus year old speakers, so there will be some nicks and dings and the front bass baffle on one of the speaker is slightly ajar, but all these have no impact on the speakers sound. These speakers are all about the sound and how they should be enjoyed for their musicality.
