Zwei 15-cm-Tieftöner mit niedriger Eigenresonanz sind exakt auf diese Line abgestimmt und erzeugen mit den extrem harten, geprägten Membranen einen sehr tiefen, druckvollen und präzisen Bass.Der 12-cm-Mitteltöner, die Gewebe-Kalotte und die geformte Schallwand bilden eine akustische Einheit, die für ein konstantes Abstrahlverhalten im Übernahmereich zwischen Mittel- und Hochton (CD = Constant Directivity) sorgt. Sie ist zusammen mit der schmalen Schallwand für das ideale Abstrahlverhalten und die frappierende Räumlichkeit verantwortlich.Durch die Anordnung der Kalotte unter dem Mitteltöner und eine exakt berechnete Auslegung der Frequenzweiche steigt die akustische Achse im Mittel-Hochtonbereich mit der Entfernung von der Box nach oben an und gleicht dadurch die niedrige Bauhöhe aus. Somit erzielen wir auch deutlich oberhalb der Box eine brillante und natürliche Wiedergabe des gesamten Mittel-Hochtonbereichs.Die S 2000 CTL kann trotz ihrer geringen Größe hohe Pegel mühelos verarbeiten und einen sehr guten Tiefbass bieten. Natürlich ist T+A beim einmaligen Transmissionline-Prinzip geblieben, denn es hat große Vorteile bei der Wiedergabe tiefer Frequenzen, hat aber durch die neue, tiefere Gehäuseform die effektive Wirkung der Lines nochmals verbessern können. Das Transmissionline-Konzept bietet große Vorteile gegenüber Bassreflexsystemen, jedoch erfordert es sehr hohen konstruktiven Aufwand, wenn damit auch eine sehr tiefe untere Grenzfrequenz erreicht werden soll. Dies bedeutet nämlich, dass ähnlich einer Orgelpfeife, die Schallführung hinter den Tieftönern (Transmissionline) sehr lang sein muss und somit auch sehr tiefe Frequenzen abgestrahlt werden können. Das neu entwickelte Gehäusekonzept der CTL = Compensated Transmission Line kompensiert sogar die akustische Impedanz des Systems und vermeidet so störende Oberwellen.
