In vendita in questa asta una (ma ce ne sono diverse disponibili!) valvola doppio triodo TESLA E83CC; è equivalente alla 12AX7, alla ECC83, alla 6057, 7025, CV4004 ... ma sopratutto è accuratamente uguale alla famosa Telefunken ECC803S (dove S vuol dire SPANNGITTER, cioè griglia a cornice), rinomata valvola, unica per le sue caratteristiche soniche. Negli anni ’70 la Telefunken cedette attrezzature e maestranze esperte alla Tesla (fabbrica di Vrchlabí, nei pressi di Rožnov), da dove cominciò la produzione di questa E83CC marchiate con il Codice 32. Dal 1970 al 1982 (circa) le scritte erano gialle o bianche, ed i piedini dorati o rodiati. Dal 1985 la produzione fu spostata alla fabbrica di T?inec, marchiando le valvole con il Codice 37. Negli anni sono stati prodotti anche alcuni cartoni da 100 valvole ognuno, destinati al servizio delle poste e telecomunicazioni cecosclovacche, e per riconoscerle veniva impresso sul vetro il logo delle spade incrociate. Queste valvole erano selezionate in maniera più stringente, e la loro aspettativa di vita è più lunga. Ogni valvola in vendita (Tesla E833CC, pin rodiati, logo delle spade incrociate, Codice 32, data fabbricazione Agosto 1982) è prima di tutto testata con un provavalvole AN/USM-118B “Cardmatic” della Hickok, ben calibrato, usando tre diffferenti punti di lavoro: 100Va -1Vg (carta ECC83, 1600 uMhos f.s.) 150Va -1Vg (carta 6681, 2200 uMhos f.s.) 250Va -2Vg (carta 12AX7, 2100 uMhos f.s.) Ad ogni prova vengono misurati Ia (corrente anodica) e gm (transconduttanza) per ogni sezione di triodo; se questi numeri sono all’interno di un determinato valore, il tubo viene preselezionato ed inviato alla misura delle curve. Con il tracciacurve l’intero tratto da 0 a 400Va è misurato con passi di griglia di 0.5v, da 0 a -3; se le curve sono tra loro ben accoppiate, la valvola è definitivamente considerata BUONA. Ogni tubo è venduto con le sue curve caratteristiche stampate su carta, in una scatola bianca senza scritte particolari (le valvole provengono da un cartone di 100); il valore di Ia e gm per ogni sezione (misurato a 250Va e -2Vg) viene chiaramente scritto. C’è anche la possibilità di chiedere per: 1) Tubi diversi accoppiati – cioè: volete comprare più di una valvola, e chiedete non solo un buon accoppiamento tra le due sezioni interne, ma anche tra valvole diverse. Questo è possibile per un limitato numero di valvole, al prezzo di un aumento del costo (+30%) 2) Sezioni interne non accoppiate – cioè: volete usare la valvola in un circuito dove non è importante l’accoppiamento tra le sezioni (ad esempio in un cathode-follower); in questo caso dovete specificare quale delle due sezioni di triodo deve avere i valori più alti (la prima sezione usa i pin 6, 7 e 8; la seconda i pin 1, 2 e 3). Questo è possibile per un limitato numero di valvole, con il vantaggio di un costo più basso (-50%) Vale la pena notare che, anche se scegliete una valvola con le sezioni meno accoppiate, questa è comunque da considerarsi come “NOS” (New Old Stock), con parametri sicuramente eccellenti. Solo l’accoppiamento tra le sezioni interne è peggiore; ma i tipici valori (Ia, gm ...) sono ancora eccezionali! Farò del mio meglio per scegliere, provare e vendere le valvole con i parametri migliori, in base alla mia esperienza; ma a causa delle tante variabili coinvolte nel processo di selezione e misura, l’accuratezza del tutto è limitata. Questo è importante: anche se vendo la valvola meglio accoppiata in base alla mia esperienza, c’è sempre un errore che può arrivare fino al 10% - tenetene conto. C’è anche da notare che il processo di selezione determina un notevole maneggio delle valvole (“metti-e-togli”), e questo in alcuni rari casi può portare ad un leggero sbiadimento di qualche scritta. Farò del mio meglio per spedire valvole esteticamente ineccepibili, ma il tutto si basa sul “primo che chiede – primo che sceglie”. Posso spedire in Italia con Poste Delivery Standard (tracciabile) ed il costo di imballaggio e spedizione è di 20 Euro. TESLA E833CC tube; it is equivalent to 12AX7, ECC83, 6057, 7025, CV4004 … but more important it is strictly built as the famous Telefunken ECC803S (S = SPANNGITTER - Frame Grid). In early 70s Telefunken sold tools and expertise to Tesla (Vrchlabí factory, near Rožnov), and this E83CC “Frame Grid” vacuum tube went in production with Code 32. From 1970 to 1982 (circa) markings were yellow or white, and pins were golden or rhodiated. From 1985 production was moved to the T?inec factory (Code 37). Some bulk “one hundred” packaging was also prepared for Czech postal services, and the “cross swords” logo imprinted on the glass. These are more tight selected and longer life tubes. Each tube in auction (E83CC Tesla, rhodiated pins, cross-swords logo, Code 32, date August 1982) is first of all tested with an AN/USM-118 “Cardmatic” well calibrated Hickok tube-tester, using three different operating points: 100Va -1Vg (ECC83 card, 1600 uMhos f.s.) 150Va -1Vg (6681 card, 2200 uMhos f.s.) 250Va -2Vg (12AX7 card, 2100 uMhos f.s.) For each test, Ia and gm is measured on both triode sections; if these values are within a given mean value the tube is pre-selected and goes to a curve tracer. With the curve tracer the whole 0 - 400Va span is measured with 0.5Vg steps from 0 to -3; if resulting plots match properly, the tube is finally selected as GOOD. Each tube is sold with its own curve plot (paper printing) in a white anonymous box (tubes comes from a single box/batch of 100 with no single Tesla box); Ia and gm value for each triode section (measured at 250Va and -2Vg) is clearly written. There is also the possibility to ask for: 1) Better matched tubes - that is: you want to buy more than one tube, asking for a matching not only between internal triodes but also between different tubes. This is possible for a limited number of tubes, with the expense of a higher price (+30%) 2) Worse matched (internal sections) tubes - that is: you want to use one tube in a circuit where (example given) one section is used as amplifier, the other as cathode follower; in that case you *MUST* specify which of the two triode section shall be used as amplifier (first section use pins 6, 7, 8; second section use pins 1, 2, 3) resulting in higher and better values. This is possible for a limited number of tubes, with the gain of a lower price (-50%) Please note that, even if you choose a worse-matched tube, this comes absolutely as NOS fresh tube, with excellent parameters. Only the matching between internal sections is worse; typical values (e.g. Ia, gm …) are still in the premium range. All my best is done to choose, test and sell you the better tube in terms of performances; but due to the numbers of instruments and variables involved in the measurement process, accuracy of the whole system is limited. This is important: even if I will sell the BEST matched tube according to my experience, there is always an error that could be as high as 10% - please take this into account. Please note that due to handling in the selection process some writes could be slightly vanished. I will do my best to choose aesthetically nice tubes, but this is done in a “first ask – first have” basis.
