Einzeltest: FiiO X1Player-ChamäleonUnterwegs in der S-Bahn, auf dem Fahrrad oder beim Sport muss es nicht zwingend der mobile High-End Player sein, der einen über die Kopfhörer mit Musik versorgt. Klar soll er gut klingen, aber er sollte auch robust und praktisch sein und darf nebenbei gerne auch noch nett aussehen. Voilà: der FiiO X1!Wer unterwegs auf hohem Niveau Musik hören will, benötigt einen Player, der auch andere Formate abspielt als MP3. Das ist für den FiiO ein Kinderspiel. Er wandelt Musikdaten bis zu einer Auflösung von bis zu 192 KHz/24 bit und verarbeitet die Formate APE, FLAC, WAV, WMA, ALAC, MP3, AAC, OGG Vorbis und MP2. Damit verarbeitet er schon mal so gut wie alles, was zurzeit gängig ist. Die Daten wandelt ein aktueller Chip von Texas Instruments, genauer ein PCM5142. Der eingebaute Kopfhörerverstärker ist kräftig genug, um selbst Kopfhörer mit einer Impedanz von 300 Ohm zu versorgen. Insgesamt sind das schon mal allerbeste Voraussetzungen für besten Klang. Wer hier Feintuning betreiben will, kann den Equalizer aktivieren. Der verfügt über sieben Bänder, was absolut ausreicht, den tonalen Charakter des Geräts an die eigenen Wünsche anzupassen. Darüber hinaus gibt es sieben Presets, mit denen man einen für bestimmte Musikrichtungen optimierten Klang aufrufen kann. Die Bedienung des X1 ist erfreulich leicht. Acht Tasten und ein Einstellrad lassen in Verbindung mit dem 2 Zoll Farbdisplay mit 320 x 240 Pixeln kaum Verwirrung aufkommen. Die Musik speichert der X1 auf einer Micro-SD-Karte, die nicht zum Lieferumfang gehört. Dafür gehört ein schwarzer Gummi-Überzug zum Lieferumfang. Wer nicht auf schwarzes Gummi steht, kann den Player auch mit Aufklebern, die jeweils für alle Gehäuse-Seiten beiliegen, „modden“. Zur Wahl stehen Aufkleber mit Carbon-Optik, Holzdekor und Stars and Stripes. Auch zwei Displayschutzfolien liegen dem Gerät bei. Im Zubehör gibt es noch diverse Taschen, etwa eine Armtasche für den Sport oder ein schickes Etui für den Abend. Auch ein Ridging Kit, etwa, wenn man den X1 zusammen mit einem anderen mobilen Kopfhörerverstärker kombinieren möchte, ist verfügbar. Allerdings gibt es keinen Anlass, auf einen zusätzlichen Kopfhörerverstärker zurückzugreifen. Mit dem eingebauten Akku liefert der X1 bis zu 12 Stunden Musik, hier benötigt er also schon mal keine Unterstützung. Und auch klanglich gibt es überhaupt keinen Grund, noch einen „Turbo“ in Form eines externen Kopfhörerverstärkers anzubauen. Der X1 klingt schlicht tadellos. Tonal neutral, wunderbar dynamisch und rhythmisch auf den Punkt bringt er jegliche Musik zu Gehör. Wenn man ihm unbedingt etwas vorwerfen wollte, dann höchstens, dass er etwas „grobkörnig“ klingt – das aber nur im direkten Vergleich zu Geräten, die mehr als das zehnfache kosten. About the Fiio X1:Specifications and DesignAt 96.7x57.7x14.1mm and 106g, the Fiio X1 is a compact device, much like the Apple iPod Classic in many ways. FiiO X1 first generation high-resolution audio player. Plays mp3, WAV, FLAC, and a host of other file formats. Silver finish, touch-wheel navigation, memory storage by micro SD card, variable storage according to the size of the card used. Black neoprene case included. The player is generally in working order, but has dropped out a couple of times in recent use - it seems to hold charge OK, doesnt seem to be the battery at fault, but its basically gone blank and silent, then came back to life when powered up as normal again. Its been very lightly used, owned by myself from new, and always kept in the black neoprene case shown in the photos. No scratches, apart from the slightest of handling marks on the screen. Video shows it in operation. In order to connect it to either a wall-wart power supply, or to a PC for file transfer, a standard micro USB lead will be needed. This is NOT supplied. If I can find the original box and manual/documentation, they will be included, but these are not guaranteed to be part of the auction. Memory storage is via standard micro SD or SDHC card.
