IT IS FITTED WITH A GARRARD RC 121 Mk2 AUTOCHANGE DECK WHICH HAS 4 SPEEDS AND A TWIN VALVE PUSH PULL TYPE AMPLIFIER. THIS WAS THE VERY FIRST MODEL IN A LONG LINE OF SRP 31s AND DIDNT USE THIS AUTOCHANGE UNIT FOR VERY LONG. IT WAS SOON REPLACED WITH THE MORE FAMILIAR GARRARD 210 SO THIS ONE IS VERY HARD TO FIND, ESPECIALLY IN WORKING CONDITION. AS FAR AS I CAN ASCERTAIN THIS UNIT IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CARTRIDGE WHICH HAS BEEN CHANGED OUT FOR A MORE MODERN TYPE UTILISING A FLIP OVER STYLUS. ALTHOUGH IN WORKING CONDITION BOTH THE DECK AND THE AMPLIFIER WILL BENEFIT FROM A SERVICE SO THIS ONE IS SOLD AS SEEN. I HAVE STACKED IT UP WITH HALF A DOZEN 78s AND IT PLAYED THROUGH THEM FINE. THE SPEED SELECTOR KNOB IS STIFF BUT IT DOES ENGAGE ALL FOUR SPEEDS. THE RUBBER TURNTABLE MAT IS STILL SUPPLE UNLIKE MOST OF THESE OLD PLAYERS WHERE IT HAS TURNED HARD AND BRITTLE. THERE ARE FOUR SPEEDS AVAILABLE AND ABOUT 8 RECORDS CAN BE STACKED ON THE SPINDLE TO PLAY ONE AFTER THE OTHER IN AUTO MODE. THE DECK UTLISES A FEELER ARM TO GAUGE THE SIZE OF THE RECORD SO THAT THE PICK UP KNOWS WHERE TO LAND. ADJUSTMENT HAS BEEN MADE SO THAT THE PICK UP TOUCHES DOWN IN THE CORRECT PLACE AND THE TRACKING WEIGHT HAS ALSO BEEN SET CORRECTLY. ONCE THERE ARE NO MORE RECORDS LEFT TO PLAY THE DECK WILL SWITCH ITSELF OFF. THE FRONT OF THE UNIT HAS THREE CONTROLS, ONE FOR ON/OFF/VOLUME AND ONE EACH FOR BASS AND TREBLE CONTROL. THESE ALL OPERATE SMOOTHLY WITH NO CRACKLE AT ALL. THE FABRIC GRILL IS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO RIPS/TEARS OR OTHER DAMAGE AND THE BUSH LOGO IS ALSO PRESENT (THESE ARE NEARLY ALWAYS MISSING). You are bidding on a Garrard Model MC 121 Mk II stereo turntable that was removed from a console. It appears to be complete and all original, but is untested, sold for repair. I did plug it in and the turntable would turn, so the motor is good. I would assume it needs lubrication for the changer to work smoothly. The head has a Sonotone cartridge installed. It is mounted on the motor board from the console which measures roughly 15 3/4 by 16 inches in size. The turntable is 5 inches tall above the motor board. This should be useful for someone. Shipping weight is 15 pounds. No shipping to China. The board could be removed for cheaper shipping, if desired. Please see my other auctions for more interesting radio and audio items, and tubes.
