Overview The JA-0801 8.8cm dome type screener uses a 68mm diameter beryllium diaphragm manufactured by Yamahas original method. The voice coil has a large diameter of 66? and is wound edge-wise with copper ribbon wire to increase efficiency.This vibration system is designed so that the air pressure behind the beryllium diaphragm, voice coil, edge, and other parts is the same. Behind the diaphragm, the center pole is hollowed out and connected to the back cavity, and behind the voice coil, air holes are drilled in the bottom plate of the magnetic circuit and connected to the back cavity. The air holes behind the edges are also drilled through the air holes in the voice coil bobbin and also in the outer poles to release the air at the edges.The magnetic circuit uses a large 156? magnet with a magnetic flux density of 16,000 gauss to improve transient characteristics.In order to increase the rigidity of the diaphragm and improve directivity, a dome type with a small radius of curvature is used. The diffuser suppresses the valleys caused by interference in the out-of-band on-axis characteristics, extending the on-axis characteristics to the widest possible range and improving the connection with the tweeter near the crossover frequency.
