Offered for your consideration is a vintage Jamo three-driver, two-way crossover network removed from my Center 200 center channel speaker, manufactured in Denmark in 1995. The Center 200 used this crossover to divide two parallel-wired 5” mid/bass woofers (8? net load) from a 1” dome tweeter (4?) at 2kHz and features an innovative high frequency attenuation switch on the faceplate.So, please see the large photos I’ve taken to decide if this capable Jamo center channel crossover should be yours.*Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, three (3) identical Jamo Center 200 crossover networks are available at time of this writing. This Jamo crossover is in clean, excellent condition. The rigid black plastic faceplate is in great shape with no chips or cracks and the enameled lettering is in great shape. It features, heavily-wound copper inductors, resistors, and three capacitors. Plus, it has proper +/- binding posts, conveniently-angled for fiddle-free connections, instead of the flimsy spring tabs many other brands use. And, I’ve neatly bound the woofer and tweeter wires for the buyer’s convenience. Overall, this Jamo crossover network is exceptionally well preserved. What’s more, this crossover was tested as working before the speaker was disassembled due to cabinet wear. If considering for a center speaker project, the faceplate measures 3 7/16” square and would require a 3¼” cutout to clear its circular rear and the component board.Lastly, as used in the Center 200, the board is connected directly to the back of the +/- terminals at a somewhat awkward angle. This can be easily rectified by connecting it to the terminal cup with +/- wires of your chosen length. Offered for your consideration is a vintage Jamo # 20248 130mm (5 inch) woofer removed from a Jamo Center 200 speaker, manufactured in 1995. This shielded bass/midrange driver was made in Denmark years before Jamo was acquired by Klipsch. It was likely used in some more of Jamo’s period offerings, but the buyer is wholly responsible for accurately verifying any other suitable applications.So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable Jamo woofer should be yours.*Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, several identical Jamo 20248 woofers are available at time of this writing. This Jamo woofer is in clean, excellent overall condition. It has a sturdy poly cone that is flawless and so is the concave voice coil dustcap. Plus, the surround is permanent rubber instead of the fragile foam most makers were still using well into the 1990’s. Also, the black-enameled steel basket is in great shape with no scratches, dings, or oxidation, just a hint of oxidation on the galvanized bell cover. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity with spades that have never been soldered. Overall, this quality Jamo driver is very well preserved. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds perfect with fast, clear mid-frequency coverage and good low end for the platform size. Plus, I tested the DC resistance at 13.1-14.0?, right in line with a nominal 16 ohm driver rating (in the Center 200, two of these woofers are parallel-wired by the crossover for a net 8 ohm load). Lastly, the basket flange measures 5?” diameter, it stands 3” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 3?” adjacent / 5?” on the diagonal apart, c-t-c.So, if your Center 200, or other suitable Jamo speakers, have a damaged or blown 5” mid/bass driver, this is a great find—your speaker will be sounding its best once again in no time!
