There is no damage to the display screen lighting or knob volume, but there are scratches and rust on the surface cover. The accessories are only a power line and an instruction manual (copy), and a microphone is not included. This sale is for the optional IC-10 chips for the Kenwood R-5000 receiver to enable the owner to connect the receiver to the computer for remote access and control. Also included with this sale is a copy of the installation instructions and a copy of the IC-10 user manual. We found that the installation will take a little bit of time as the installer is required to remove both the top and bottom covers, loosen and remove a metal shield over the IC chip sockets, and then remove the 4 screws securing the front panel so that it can open and allow access to the IC sockets. There is no soldering and this is not an installation requiring technical skill. But the installer will need to handle the IC chips with care to insure that they are carefully installed without bending the small metal leads.In addition to these IC chips, the user will need to secure the proper computer RS-232 cable to connect between the receiver and your computer and also the proper operational software. The cable can be purchased on Ebay. The software may be purchased from a couple of different sources that typically supply receiver operational software.
