I made these grills for a pair of white Kef Q750s I no longer have. The grills are made from very thin plywood, painted white, with embedded magnets. The grill fabric is from a vintage pair of Magenpan MG-Is that I rebuilt. The grill fabric is off-white, and softens the look of the speakers some.

hi therehere we have up for sale with a 99p start and no reserve is a vintage pair of magnepan magneplanar mg1.4 full range planar speakers in used but in good condition for there age there is some light marks on the grill cloths and some small nicks in the fabric please view the picturestested and in full working order and sound absolutely fantastic exeptionaly good on valve equipment these are verry big speakers 152cm tall 55cm wide and 5cm deep idealy id like them collected but i am willing to ship via a tracked & signed for delivery service thank you for looking and please view my other listings for more items

Vintage Magneplanar Magnepan MG1 Panel Speakers. Tested and Working. Pair Some of the coolest speakers I have come across. I just don’t have room for them in my listening room. To use them properly they need to be placed 4’ from the wall and I don’t have room to do that. I am NOT a speaker expert. But the sound behind the speaker seemed to be even better than the front. With the space behind the speakers it produces what I can only inadequately describe as a surround sound effect. I say again that I am not a speaker or audio expert and that may not be the correct way to describe it. It certainly is different and cool. They work great. I did not own them 50 years ago so I cannot tell you if they are as good as they were then. Everything I have read suggests you might want to use a subwoofer with these if you like thumping bass (like I do). I would rather sell them locally due to weight and fragility. They are very solid but being so thin and the material involved looks like they would damage easily. If shipped it will be at buyer’s risk. I will pack them thoroughly with protection and they should be fine. But that will be your decision. If you know a better way of shipping, contact me and we will be glad to use it. If you know these speakers you know this is a great price. If you don’t know anything about them research them like I did. If I had more room they wouldn’t be for sale. Besides being good high end speakers they make a great conversation piece. No one can believe they are speakers. Thanks for looking.
