Welcome to my listing for beautiful Marantz CD-63SE CD Player. This lovely unit from the venerable stable of Marantz delivers music with weight, scale and authority. This is a spectacular sounding CD player and can easily be partnered with higher end components. It has a particularly rich sound with a detailed and open low end, dispelling the myth that CDs can sound thin and harsh. The transport is the very high quality and resonance free Philips CDM12.3 unit with a linear trace laser with Digital Servo Drive (DSD). The DAC on board is the high precision SM5872BS Bitstream chip. This Special Edition model benefits from an upgraded chassis, power supply and output amplifiers and the extra weight can be felt in the unit, aiding its overall stability and strength of construction over the stock CD63. The headphone output is also of a very high quality, if that is important to you. As you can see from the pictures, this player is in really excellent condition throughout. There are a couple of minor marks on the top panel but nothing major. It reads and navigates discs with speed and precision and every button and function works perfectly and as it should. Unfortunately there is no remote included.
