Recent purchase of my Linn LP12 came with Soundsmith SMMC 3 cartridge which the seller added new with adapter to fit standard head shell. My prefer to use my own Denon DL 110 HOMC cartridge so I’m trying to sell this like new condition cartridge. It’s in almost perfect condition with original case. Special adapter mount is included so it can be fitted to all types of head shell beyond the B&O turntables.

Up for sale is a Bang and Olufsen MMC 3 phono cartridge that is in need of some repair. When plugged into a B&O turntable sound comes out of both channels but loud passages on the recording have a definite distortion in both channel. I have cleaned and inspected the tip using a jewelers loop and the tip looks perfect. I have also checked the resistance across both channels using an ohm meter and found them to read 802 and 797 ohms, clearly within specs. The cantilever also appears to be straight and undamaged. My guess is that the cantilever suspension is the culprit and that is beyond my abilities to repair, but I know it can be done according to the literature. Please note that the small plastic stylus guard is also missing from the unit. I am selling this FOR PARTS OR REPAIR, NO RETURNS.

The Stylus sits on lead in cue and retracts back at Lead out cue. This is a RARE FINDING turntable.The Glass looking center piece is in great condition, the dust cover clear vinyl is in good condition with minor age related scuffs that I’ve cleaned but perhaps it could be buffed further. see pics in close proximity. The MMC3 Cartridge is in great shape and sounds awesome. This item will be packed with platter lockdown thru transporter screws, Cartridge will be placed in styrofoam box. The Tonearm will be rested over compressed foam. Internal of the dustcover will be airtight with bubble wrap. It’ll be shipped via FedEx Ground with declared value equal to purchase price.
