This unit was in need of a new Power Switch and a new set of Muting FETs. It is otherwise all original except as upgraded below; I have updated the mute ON/OFF circuitry to match that of the 3225PE. See last photo. This allowed me to replace the original 3 Amp Power switch with a more robust 7 Amp switch that should last forever. I have upgraded all of the Electrolytic Capacitors. The Power Supply caps are nichicon, Chemicon, and Panasonic. The Phono Preamp and Control Preamp audio caps are ELNA. The Phono Input coupling caps are ELNA SILMIC II Bipolar. The Power Amp caps are nichicon Gold. For added versatility, I have repurposed the (fixed line level) Tape Output RCA Jacks to be the (variable level) Preamp Outputs suitable for a powered Subwoofer, external Power Amp, etc. They are equivalent to the Preamp Outputs on the 3225PE which allows this unit to be used as a Preamp only. Cosmetically, this unit is in great shape inside and out except for a bunch of marks on the top/side cover. Please see photos. Feel free to message me with any questions, corrections, comments, etc. ******* Chapter Two ******* Whenever I acquire an NAD 3220PE with all of the original Power Amp transistors intact, I prefer to preserve and protect them by removing two fuses to disable the PE Supply, effectively re-configuring the unit as a 3020e. This reduces the Main Rails to 60V and more accurately emulates the operation and performance of the iconic 3020 Power Amp section while also staying within the specified safe area of the output transistors, making them less likely to fail. While this does reduce the specified IHF Dynamic Power, I have compensated somewhat on this unit by Beefing_Up the RMS Performance with upgraded Main Caps, going up from 4700uf to 6800uf Chemicon. Ill also be happy to reinstall the fuses on request.

NAD 3220PE Integrated Amplifier in fully working order. A lovely clean example of a great little amp closely linked to the legendary NAD 3220. It shows some signs of previous use such as light scuffs, marks and scratches, mainly to the top lid, as expected with any used item (see photos). Some of the print surrounding the volume knob has also been worn off. Thoroughly cleaned inside and out prior to sale with all of the pots and switches cleaned with contact cleaner, so its crackle free and sounds fantastic! It has what I have come to refer to as the NAD Welcome Noise which is a low frequency hum which lasts about a second when the amp is powered on. Very typical with NAD amplifiers and well documented online. After that it works flawlessly with no further noises or issues. Inputs include: MM Phono, CD/AUX, Tuner and Tape.
