Personally Id go ahead and replace the caps with one of the kits available elsewhere on eBay. Solid honest rated power and THX certification means it was built to a high standard. Height is 3 RU for those in the know. Has standard rack mount ears, one of the handles was removed, probably to mount in a cabinet with a door. Front feet are missing, easy to replace. Power cord was cut to about a foot or so. Weighs 27 pounds, lots of iron and copper in this puppy, which is why the shipping is so much. I gather that this particular model is rare and desirable. This is a very nice, clean surprisingly powerful DAC/amp. It is a full-featured DAC with high resolution USB audio support. Plenty of inputs with two each of optical and coax make this a versatile DAC. It has both RCA and balanced stereo output. This piece takes up very little space and can be used both vertically or horizontally. It accommodates WiFi, bluetooth and Apple AirPlay. NAD says it’s rated at 50 WPC @ 4ohms. I used it to play several 8 ohm speakers and it didn’t lack power to make them sound good. I used the NAD app or made adjustments manually. However, included is a replacement universal remote that has never been used. The owner’s manual is available online. The sides are made of a rubbery material for some reason. ????

Did some research on the web, the repair may be a simple capacitor replacement but its beyond my capability. If you have some skills at diagnosing and repairing electronics this could be a good deal! It can be run in mono mode if you have another C268. Rated conservatively at 80 Watt/channel into 8 ohms in stereo mode. It has power reserves called dynamic power by NAD which allow it to handle 4 ohm loads easily as well. Sounds fantastic in my system.
