Very Rare Vintage Philips 832 Quadraphonic Hi-Fi System 48 years young. Probably in this condition one of a kind to be up for Auction on E-Bay For Sale is this very rare and desirable Philips 832 Hi-Fi Quadraphonic System from 1975. This item qualifies to be in a museum of vintage Hi-Fi from the Netherlands that heralded a new benchmark in Musical Fidelity. The Philips 832 system itself is in really outstanding condition for a 48 year old legendary piece of Hi-Fi History as you can see by the photographs’ and all functions operate correctly. There is one light bulb out on the pre-selective FM panel so this will need replacing. Another Bulb of 6v 005 watts needs replacing on the stop button of the turntable. The original painted surface around the turntable(Black) could do with a renovation ‘but this takes away from the aging process that has taken place. The 832 has FM/AM/LW/SW built in’ and all of the bands are working perfectly. Listening to Classic FM is a dream if that is your thing. I like all different kinds of music and it all sounds amazing on this piece of beautiful Vintage Hi-Fi I have had this all hooked up to my own motional feedback speakers and the sound is what you would expect it to be from this flagship model that was always far too expensive for me to purchase back in 1975. I always used to go to the Philips Main Dealer near me to just look and listen to this’ and wished that I had the money to buy it. I got to hear sounds that I had never heard from my Beatles Vinyl Collection’ and it made me just want to discover what I had been missing. Try out a Quadraphonic Album on this device and its something that is hard to get your head around. As far as the Turntable is concerned it still has rave reviews and there are many videos on YouTube where you will get to see it in action. The Model is a Philips 212 and this has many technological advances built into it. The Turntable alone on E-Bay sells for £200.00 plus and that is with a basic cartridge and stylus. A new belt has been fitted to the Turntable and it works faultlessly on every level. The Turntable has a very expensive GP422 Gold Cartridge with an original Mk II Diamond Quadraphonic Stylus which produces an unprecedented level of sound quality and frequency that rises up to 50khz which needs to be heard to be believed. I have included a detailed photograph taken from the web that describes both the cartridge and stylus where all of the specifications are outlined. I have another Philips 212 Turntable with the same cartridge fitted which goes through all of my Quad 405 MkII pre-amp and Power Amp System and it is just fantastic. They are able to play both SQ and CD4 Records if you are lucky enough to have the Qaudraphonic Albums from around that period. The Platter and Rubber Matt on the turntable are immaculate. The plastic cover of the turntable lid is in really good condition’as are all of the slide controls that operate the volume etc’ plus the main tuning wheel assembly and other controls. All of the Din sockets are fully functional and there are no bad connections on any of them. Plug in some top end Headphones such as Bose and the sound is just incredible. I use the noise cancelling type that fit over my ears on this system and take myself into a place where music becomes my mind. All of the front push buttons operate as they should’ and for an item that is 48 years old it is really one of a kind that in today’s money would be equivalent to £10.000 if you adjusted inflation. Back then it was £1500.00 which was a fortune’ but the build quality and futuristic technology that went into the unit was really staggering. Anyone who knows anything about top end retro Hi Fidelity equipment will know this unit and the advances that it made within the industry placing Philips at the top of the Quadraphonic tree. Match this with good Motional Feedback Speakers and you will have a system that will bring your vinyl music collection back from the dead.
