For sale: 1 pair Philips 9710m/01.Legendary Philips wide wideband / full-range coax driver in 8 Ohm.Beautiful engineered with the famous ticonal magnets ????Philips 9710M/01 is one of the most popular vintage fullrange loudspeakers. They were designed for studio monitoring equipment as well as for domestic hi-fi applications. It was used in many speaker systems form seventies like Philips Studio Monitor 8, Sonab V1, Sonab OA5. A close view of the cone shows a long-fiber paper. A manufacturers number 2103 is stamped on the cone. The surround is accordion type without coating. There is another version of this driver with a coated surround. The coating seems to keep its flexibility trough the passing decades and the T/S parameters of both versions are similar. There is not separate dust cap - the cone has no opening at its center, which increases the rigidity of its construction. The gasket is made of cork and sometimes is painted black. The magnet system features AlNiCo magnet and a special shape center pole piece with a copper cap. Unlike the later ferrite magnet version, the 9710M/01 has underhung magnet system with 11mm thick front pole piece and 8mm voice coil, so the linear excursion is Xmax = ± 1.5mm. The voice coil is copper ant it is wounded on a paper former. The unit was assembled with three bolts made of non-magnetic material. The chassis is attached to the magnet system by three screws on its side and can be easily removed. Sie wurden für Studio-Monitoring-Geräte sowie für häusliche HiFi-Anwendungen konzipiert. Er wurde in vielen guten Lautsprechersystemen der Siebziger-Jahre verwendet. Eine genaue Ansicht des Kegels zeigt ein Langfaserpapier. Auf dem Kegel ist eine Herstellernummer 2103 eingeprägt. Die Umrandung ist accordion ohne Beschichtung. Das Magnetsystem verfügt über einen AlNiCo-Magnet und ein spezielles Formmittelpolstück mit einer Kupferkappe. Im Gegensatz zur späteren Ferritmagnetversion verfügt das 9710M / 01 über ein unteres Magnetsystem mit 11mm dickem vorderen Polstück, und 8 mm Schwingspule, so dass die lineare Auslenkung Xmax = ± 1,5mm beträgt.
