{Title} Item DescriptioNThe pioneer PL- 55X is a fantastic and increasingly rare, high quality vintage turnatble. Featuring robust contruction, metal com mechanisms, arm audiophile-quality and a heavyweight beautifully designed cabinet - it is suitable for mc cartridges. Very desirable and this is a great example in far higher than average condition and good working order. Dimensions: Width: 480 mm Depth: 390mm Height: 170mm Condition and Item Details Condition: In lovely extremely well looked after condition. The plinth is in very good clean condition with barely a mark or blemish on it, with the exception of a very small chip to corner of the veneer ( as shown in photos). Barely noticable unless looking however and blends in well. The mechanics and all parts are in excellent clean condition. The lid is very clean also. It has a few of the usual light scratches found on virtually every used turntable.... but nothing significant and no cracks, deep scratches or damage. Lastly , the rubber mat has tuned hard and brittle with age. This is extremely common and see it with these Pioneer mats of this era all the time. Its in great condition and still works fine as a mat but it has become brittle so needs to be handled delicately and ideally replaced at some point in the future. They are not expensive and readily available online. Details: It has been well tested and is working nicely with a smooth and quiet operation. Sounds fantastic! The auto return is working well also.It features its original high quality Audio Technica AT12 XE Cartridge and a brand new unused compatible diamond tipped stylus which cost £40 just recently. This model was manufactured during the mid to late 70’s. Features direct drive with auto return. Speeds for 45 & 33 rpm with fine speed adjustment. Please note the previous owner added a toggle switch to change between the two speeds. The original 33 45 rpm buttons have been deactivated. I have not attempted to revert it back. I have fitted a brand-new Audio Technica AT3600L moving magnet cartridge. This record player sounds fantastic even with this modest cartridge fitted. Worldwide voltage selector 110 / 120 / 220 / 240 Volt. Made in Japan.
