Quad 405-2 power amplifier, used with a few skuffs but sounds amazing! Much loved but no longer needed. Few marks which might even clean off if needed, all seen in photos. Perfect working condition.

QUAD 405-2 Power amp boards replaced original CA A5 burnt power amp section.All preamp section of CA A5 retained all functions working.Note to Turntable users - there is possible to install PHONO stage board on demand for additional £50 (just send me a message).All knobs / input selectors / volume and tone adjustment works as in originial design and works fine - no crackling.One pair of speaker terminals connected, as 2nd pair removed due to the space limitation. All tested working and sounds great. PSU is made of new Nichicon caps 4 x 2200uF per rail (positive and gative) (total 8 x 2200uF) with high current Schottly rectifier diodes.

This is a Quad 405 and Quad 405-2 Repair and update service  The repair and update service includes the following: Trouble shooting circuit boards replace damaged components with equivalent modern parts.  Make amplifier operational and perform update service. >All electrolytic capacitors will be replaced with high quality electrolytic capacitors.   >Main power supply capacitors will be replaced with high quality electrolytic capacitors. >All ceramic capacitors will be replaced with high quality film and mica capacitors >The op amp ICs will be replaced with Burr Brown SoundPlus OPA134 op amp ICs with sockets. >Decoupling capacitors added to op amp positive and negative supply lines >Unit will be rewired on the transformer secondary side and to amplifier boards >RCA jacks installed and new audio wires added >Replace speaker connector with gold plated binding posts >Replace power transistors with modern devices  See sample photos of a before an after completion for illustration. Up for auction is my Quad 405-2 I have owned this for 25 years and during that time I have had the output stage rebuilt by a firm in Derby (see photos for sticker) It sounds amazing with no hums. Créée en 1936, lentreprise a au fil de son histoire donné naissance à plusieurs appareils emblématiques : cest le cas de ce 405-2, lancé en 1982 pour succéder au modèle 405 (qui avait obtenu le Queens award for technological achievement quelques années plus tôt). Le 405-2 reprend la plupart des caractéristiques de son prédécesseur, à commencer par le circuit current dumping, qui réduit considérablement la distorsion. Délivrant une puissance de 100 watts par canal, il acceptera sans problème les enceintes un rien flegmatiques dont nos voisins doutre-Manche sont coutumiers (par exemple : des Celestion Ditton 66 ou des Kef Calinda). En guise de préampli, un Quad 33 fera parfaitement laffaire ! Cet exemplaire a été entièrement réparé, révisé, restauré et remis à niveau. Il est en très bel état de présentation et son fonctionnement est parfait. Il est reparti pour 20 ans. Produit original.
