Minor scratches on the front control panel.Deep scratches on the top cover caused by crushed pads (feet) from the power amp which sat on the top.This let the case screws rub without me knowing.I was considering using a vinyl wrap in carbon fibre grey but thought Id leave that as an option !If required, I could include this !Please add a message when purchasing. The 99 CDP originally used a Philips CD mechanism, but when they ceased production a totally new transport was designed uniquely for the CDP-2 player – more details in the description below. It was built in 2008 and is in good fully working condition, with just a couple of minor blemishes please photographs. It comes in original factory packaging with remote control, mains cable, speaker plugs and, of course our three month warranty. Quad say…. The 99 CDP-2 is an exceptional CD player – without doubt, one of the finest and most advanced machines available. It uses a state-of-the-art transport and DAC and incorporates both fixed and variable level outputs so it can be used both with a preamplifier, or to maintain the very cleanest signal path, directly into a power amplifier. The transport has a remarkable specification with an ultra-smooth servo to dramatically reduce ‘clock jitter’. The three laser pickup reads the disc with exceptional accuracy ensuring transparency and neutrality in reproduction. The very latest 24 bit/192 kHz upsampling Crystal DAC produces breathtaking detail and resolution, opening a window to the recording to squeeze out every last subtle effect and sensation. Six digital inputs, three coaxial and thee optical allow other sources to benefit from the on-board DACs and in certain applications, negate the need for a preamplifier altogether. The Quad 99 CDP-2 is a versatile CD player with several advanced features. The CDP-2 will play regular music CDs, music and standard CD-Rs (open or closed) and CD-RWs. Minidisc and DAT players, or Digital Audio Broadcast tuners (DAB) will be significantly improved by connecting their digital outputs to the CDP-2.
