Pioneer SX-636 Amplifier Tuner Receiver Vintage 1970s For Restoration/Repair Very large iconic pioneer blue lit hifi separates stereo receiver. In need of repair/replacement capacitors or transistors. The channels seem ok but there is loud popping and unwanted coming through speakers at all volume settings. Ive been quoted 160 to repair. (A common issue with this model but once fixed should be very reliable) Well looked after and all lights up as it should. Nice clean chassis and the fascia is on good condition with light scuffs only. Some minimal surface oxidation to rear screws etc. Collection preferred but happy to organise courier. A very reluctant sale, due to downsizing, of my Pioneer SX-636 Reciever. The case is in very nice condition. It is fully working and produces a gorgeous sound. I have owned this for some years. However it has not been serviced in the ten years I have owned it..It has not been used constantly or abused in my possession and I have loved owning it. Now its time for a new owner. I would recommend a service at this age to ensure its lasting beauty of performance, theres the odd crackle now and then but not a lot and all the controls are smooth with little if any crackle. . I am sure the people viewing this are well aware of the reputation of this classic beauty and what they are looking at with classic vintage hifi. Pioneer SX-636 Stereo Receiver from 1974. In Excellent condition, please check the photographs. Serviced to include cleaning inside and out, all the pots and switches have been treated with switch cleaner, known issue noisy transistors replaced in the pre-amp, and the bias currents and offset voltages have been set. Front panel labels are all intact, clear and easy to read. All buttons are easy and soft to operate. — the receiver has been serviced. — the potentiometers of the receiver were made clean. — during service old bad electrolytic capacitors in the signal path of the tuner, sound amplifier, output stage for a fresh sound were renewed, new capacitors from Nichicon and Panasonic audio series. — the reception of the tuner has been corrected. — electrical characteristics DC Offset, bias of the amplifier were set according to standards and values of the service manual of the device.
