SAE C102 Cassette Deck...good cosmetic condition, but not fully functional. Play, FWD, & RWD are not working, so this is being sold as-is with no returns. It will play for a few seconds, but then stops. One of the pics was taken while playing, so you can see the level meters working, and it does output sound when it plays for those few seconds. The tape counter does not count, likely due to the playback problem. The belts in this unit have been replaced. It has three belts - drawer mechanism, main tape drive, and fly-wheel/capstan. Please see video for drawer action. Open and Close action is working perfectly. The motors work fine. Since all the belts have been replaced, I think the playback problem may be the main drive tire, which may have shrunken and hardened at this point, and is not making good contact with the drive system. The motors work fine, but again, there is not good contact somewhere else in the drive system. The unit is very clean cosmetically. I did take one close-up pic to show a few scratches, and the top bumper on the left rack-mount is missing. This came from my dads collection, and sat on a shelf for probably 20+ years. He likely bought it at a thrift store all those years ago in non-working condition, and never got around to fixing it. As mentioned, I replaced the three belts, and also cleaned the drawer mechanism to make it work more smoothly. After doing all that, it still wouldnt play properly, so I am selling it as-is, since I have other projects I need to work on. Check my feedback, as I have sold several vintage cassette decks here (and elsewhere). I try to provide a detailed description so that there are no surprises.
