Scott 299B Clean All Original Tested 7189 Tubes Sounds Excellent An all original circuit components 299B in working condition is a unique find in 2023. No power supply hum. Very easy to live with excellent tube sound is what make these 299 series amp so legendary. Has Amplitrex AT1000 tested high vintage 7189 tubes, selected vintage tested 12AX7 tubes. This has to be part of what make this example so special. Has the TRA-8-5-1 output transformers and original power transformer. This amp is best described as an ideal starting point for partial or complete restoration. Today this amp sounds excellent - addictive. Faceplate has no bent corners, almost no characters missing from miscellaneous wear. Some careless handling wear of the faceplate edges - not obvious from the front view - see photos. Buyer should understand there are original circuit parts that will need replacement at some unpredictable point in time. An experienced technician will be able to make this a reliable very usable amp with modern B+ power supply capacitors and modern silicon diode bias supply rectifier upgrade. Amplitrex test results marked in each tube. For tube re-install, tubes will have tube positions labeled. Amp includes original tube shields, although not in photos.
