Hi here I have my old mans Sharp VZ-2000E Vintage 80s Boombox - Cassette, Radio, Turntable/Record Player. Use to love using this as a kid just been It has been stored in my spare bedroom for many years my old man bought this fromNew and was given to me and is in partly working condition. Powers up the VU meters working all the lights are working all the buttons are there no broken power button which is a common problem. Hopefully someone can bring it back to its former glory. CASE: the outer shell has a few marks and scratches as too Be expected with a 40 year old bit of kit. No cracks or broken bits of plastic. But overall very nice looking both speakers and tweets are still working perfectly. No blown or broken speakers. The battery compartment is clean and no corrosion I haven’t tried it on the D batteries as not got any too hand but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, I bought some replacements sliders a good few years ago 4 of them need attaching properly by taking the case off which I never got round to doing but still usable as is I also have some more replacement sliders which I didn’t need which I’ll add to Sale in case any more snap off. CASSETTE: the cassette deck still works perfectly well. The tape counter belt needs replacing apart from that in perfect working order but as with any old cassette decks the belts could go at any time. TUNER: radio works and tuner works perfectly fine same as the tape deck. The Ariel doesn’t extend but still working could be easily replaced but depending on your reception in your area will work fine as is. RECORD/TURNTABLE: the turntable needs new belts for both the motor which you can hear is still working when powered up, but with no belts attached so doesn’t do anything and for the belts to make the styluses move also probably need changing to bring it back to working use. Both styluses are there and don’t need changing. The door opens perfectly without having to pull it open like others I’ve seen. The inside is clean and not Grimey check the pictures I tried to keep as much dust out the machine as possible over the years. POSTAGE: this boom box is super heavy it’s not the type of boom box your going to be carrying around on your shoulder lol. It’s 16.5KG. I expect it will be 35.00£ to ship through parcel-force will be well packed up if shipped. Selling for a friend as I dont have the time to get into this one.. Powers on and radio works spot on, is loud and clear in both channels. Tape and turntable will obviously need belts, styluses and the whole thing needs a good strip clean and replacement sliders. Aerial is in good condition and if you can see through the filth, I think it will clean up well, there doesnt appear to be any bad marks/scratches but no guarentees.. Postage will be via Parcelforce.
