For sale is a Sherwood S-7100A Am/Fm stereo receiver. This unit is in very good condition for its age but, it does display some very minor blemishes from normal everyday use. Please view the photos carefully in detail for your own evaluation. This unit has had all of the controls thoroughly cleaned with Deoxit products to ensure trouble free operation, Any out of spec parts have been updated with new quality replacements. The main amplifier boards, power supply and tone boards have been upgraded with new capacitors. There is still a little bit of static present in the volume pot sometimes when the unit is first powered on but, this lasts only a second or two then fades away. The best way I find to remedy this issue, is to have the speaker selector switched to off before turning the unit on then waiting a second or two before switching the speakers on. This unit has been thoroughly tested and all functions operate as they should. This receiver played beautifully through my Advent loudspeakers. Sherwood S7100 A with wood grain cabinet, for restoration Tried Speaker A and Speaker B with a small speaker, both played when loudness power turned on. This seems to be a powerful unit. The wood grain casing/cabinet is in very good condition with no notable detractions. Dusted case off, but it could use a light orange oil. Needs cleaning both in and out of unit, sold for restoration- has been sitting 15 plus years. This came from a large collection of vintage hi-fi equipment. The former owner, a Three War Veteran, was trained by the Military to repair electronics. Sherwood Model S-5000 Stereo Amplifier. As you can see, the amp is in very nice original condition and shows only light to moderate general wear. I powered it up with a Variac autoformer. It powered up without any issues and works and sounds great. It does, however, appear to have all original capacitors and other components which you may want to change for the sake of reliability, longevity and even better sound. As you can see, several of the tubes look to be original and are branded as Sherwood. Overall, it will make someone a great amplifier to use daily with a little restoration and preventative maintenance. Buyer pays $40 shipping in CONUS.
