This Sony 3120A Stereo Amplifier is from my late fathers estate. He purchased this in Japan in the late 1960s and he was a dedicated audiophile. Serial number 50069. The power output: 50 watts per channel into 8? (stereo), the frequency response was 30Hz to 100kHz and total harmonic distortion was 0.1%. It comes with the original manual. The 3120A is an upgraded version of the 3120 stereo amplifier and is considered more desirable than the 3120. I opened up the amplifier and I dont see any burned components or any visible issues (see pictures). Its a simple solid state amplifier. Given its age and the fact its unrestored I suspect the capacitors will need replacement. It powers up but I havent put it on any testing equipment or hooked it up to speakers - so its sold 100% as is for parts or restoration. It comes from a non-smoking household and is in remarkable shape given its age. The amplifier weights 17.4 lbs and this is reflected in the shipping cost. I will carefully pack and box the amplifier prior to shipping.
