This Sony TC-K890ES Stereo 3 Head Cassette Player/Recorder deck is in excellent cosmetic condition. The unit powers on fine and the lights light up but the door/tray fails to open when I push the open/close button. I can hear the sound of the gears working while it is trying to open but it nevertheless fails to open. This is literally all of the testing I was able to do. This unit is from the same estate that I have recently sold vintage electronics from including Reel to Reel machines, signal processors, noise reduction systems, Heresy II speakers, equalizers, etc....you can read the feedback I have received on those items if you wish. One Sony TC-K890ES stereo cassette player recorder as seen in the photos - I cannot guarantee this to function 100% as when new due to age - I briefly tested this by recording and playing back the music that I recorded - It recorded a about 4 songs and then it abruptly stopped - I know that this should not have stopped just 12 minutes into the taping for no good reason - I have no idea what all might be wrong with this machine - I purchased it this way and I am just passing this deck onto someone who can appreciate it more than I do - This definitely needs servicing - Selling as a non working parts unit - Please examine the photos and judge this cassette deck for yourself - I recorded a YouTube video of this working for the short time that it did - If you visit YouTube and type in Sony K890ES 45236 the video of this being tested will appear - Fedex ground shipping signature required
