Il combine les qualités dun préampli de haut niveau avec celles dun superbe amplificateur de puissance stéréo double mono (chaque canal est totalement indépendant). Sa principale force est de transmettre sans effort les signaux audio les plus complexes à tous type et genre denceintes, y compris les plus difficiles (électrostatiques, isodynamique, bas rendement...). Le son est ouvert, clair comme du cristal et avec une profondeur remarquable du spectre sonore. En même temps, lamplificateur est presque invisible pour les signaux audio.Il est de conception discrète (aucun circuit intégré nest utilisé), à lexception de la section dentrée symétrique. La section préampli est construite autour de double FET et lamplificateur est couplé en courant continu de lentrée à la sortie. Bien que lentrée XLR True Balanced nécessite des composants électroniques supplémentaires, lamélioration de la qualité finale est telle, que Sphinx la intégré.Les boutons de sélection dentrée actionnent des mini-relais avec des contacts plaqués or. Les signaux audio sont acheminés par le chemin le plus court entre lentrée et la sortie : cela résout totalement les problèmes habituels de diaphonie.
